Tradewind Yachts

For decades Tradewind Yachts has been successfully building a series of compact and seaworthy sailing yachts in the 25 to 44 foot range with notable sailing qualities, a beautiful traditional finish and a timeless character.

At first the yachts were built in the United Kingdom but since the year 2000 owner Austin Lion has been finishing the yachts in his yard in Walsoorden. Tradewind Yachts has now been in full Dutch ownership for over 10 years.

Sailing yachts

Over the years the range of Tradewind yachts have achieved an enviable standard in traditional classic sailing yachts and are renowned for their seaworthiness and ease of maintenance. The Atoll 25 ft and the Islander 32 ft are gaff rigged and have a chine hull. The Tradewind 35 ft and 44 ft however are cutter rigged and are S-bottom designs.

The GRP hulls are built using the hand lay-up process and are finished to the highest standards using mahogany, stainless or brass fittings and fixtures and leather. On deck as in the cabin we create a stylish classic atmosphere and the use of high-quality materials guarantees a minimal maintenance. Due to the classic and timeless appearance our sailing yachts are immune to market trends and are able to retain their value. Using this tried concept we have built over 300 vessels to date.

Due to the unique design and low ballast placement our vessels possess exceptional stability characteristics and come with CE-A certification which makes them truly suitable for global cruising, even the Atoll 25 has this certification which is unique for a yacht of this size.
